CHEVY CHASE, MD — RadTech, the nonprofit trade association for ultraviolet and electron beam (UV+EB) technology, has joined the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) as a Member Institution. The National Academy of Inventors is a U.S. nonprofit dedicated to encouraging inventors and to recognize achievements that have made a "tangible impact on the quality of life, economic development and the welfare of society." While traditionally focused on academia, NAI has accepted RadTech as the first nonprofit trade association chapter.

"In recognition of the many inventors in our technology space, and to build on RadTech's fast developing 'RadLaunch' effort to support start-ups, we look forward to the opportunity to engage with the NAI community, and we are excited to start our own, unique UV+EB focused chapter," said Eileen Weber, RadTech President, Global Marketing Manager, Allnex. “With the rapid advancement of new materials and processes, such as the development of UV LEDs, inkjet, and 3D/additive printing, UV and EB research is accelerating across disciplines such as medicine, electronics, aerospace and automotive applications.”

As a Member Institution of the NAI, RadTech now has the opportunity to curate an active technology chapter, including developing mentors and mentees, and submitting nominations for the NAI Senior Members program.

"NAI is excited to partner with RadTech and connect with innovators in the UV and EB technology space," said Jayde Stewart NAI Director. "The NAI was founded in 2010 to recognize and encourage inventors with U.S.-issued patents, enhance the visibility of academic technology and innovation, encourage the disclosure of intellectual property, as well as educate and mentor innovative students who help shape the future, and translate the inventions of its members to benefit society. The collaboration with RadTech will facilitate bridging the gap between industry and academia, while providing much deserved recognition to members of the RadTech community."

RadTech is allocated a limited number of individual memberships to NAI for its membership, if you are interested, contact RadTech. RadTech will be holding a NAI chapter meeting and event during the 2020 RadTech UV+EB Technology Expo & Conference, taking place March 9-11, 2020, in Orlando, Florida.
