  • S.A. Armstrong Limited announced Todd Rief has joined the organization as CEO. Rief has more than 25 years of experience. In his most recent role, Rief worked with Honeywell International for 12 years, where he served as chief commercial officer for the homes and buildings technologies division.
     
  • Caleffi North America appointed Sharon Alexander to the position of brand marketing manager. Alexander will work closely with the company’s sales and media networks and will be responsible for advertising, public relations, trade merchandising, trade exhibitions and promotion development.
     
  • Effective Jan. 1, Richard Lyons, executive vice president of C. Cowles & Co., has been promoted to president of the company. C. Cowles & Co. consists of Hydrolevel, Carlin Combustion Technology and Cowles Products
     
  • John W. Danforth Co., one of the largest mechanical contractors in the northeast, announced Patrick McParlane, has been named president and COO. He is the ninth president in the company’s 135-year history. Robert Beck remains Danforth CEO.
     
  • Adsil, a manufacturer of commercial and industrial siloxane coatings for hard surfaces and HVAC applications, promoted Gordon Miller to general manager.
     
  • Rinnai Corp. announced it has received the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems Certification, which recognizes design and engineering support, component laboratory testing, manufacturing and assembly of residential and commercial water heaters, and space-heating products and accessories.
     
  • RectorSeal, a manufacturer and distributor of HVACR plumbing and firestop products, became an approved vendor of the newly formed The Commonwealth Group wholesale buying organization, effective Jan. 1.

  • SPX Corp. subsidiary The Marley Co., recently purchased Patterson-Kelley, a manufacturer and distributor of commercial boilers and water heaters. The acquisition, SPX noted, will broaden its HVAC platform in the high-efficiency boiler segment of the heating market. Paterson-Kelly will operate as a subsidiary of SPX, and a part of the broader SPX HVAC platform, which consists of Weil-McLain, Marley Engineered Products and SPX Cooling Technologies.
